Together: 8 p.m. was the germination point for Dawn (2024), sited just beyond this gallery and visible through the glass doors. Dawn’s colors depart from those traditionally seen in outdoor sculpture (like all the works in Girl Group). The angular planes and lyrical lines emphasize the work’s palette of acid pink and peach, which shift in the changing light. Looking between these two sculptures, it is possible to trace the lineage from Together: 8 p.m. to Dawn and observe the ways in which the shapes of each work reflect and diverge from one to the other.
