“In the case of Grow and Glow [on view outside the Museum Building] and the paper works on the wall, I made a sculpture and then wrapped it in paper, let the paper shrink, and then pulled that out and cast it in bronze to get the sense of something present and something absent. The paper is like a skin, so the constant references to skin, body, and air, how air makes form, are also essential in the clay works. I see all of these processes as very related.”
