With Crocodylus, the power of hybridity is related to highlighting and enhancing the relationships between humans and animals, to understanding we are no better or more important than they are. For Mutu, society’s treatment of women is bound up in how humans regard themselves in relation to nature: “The more clear it is that we are that we are not the dominant species, the more compassionate we can become with one another.”
