Inside this wooden shack sits a wondrous surprise seemingly plucked from the halls of a natural history museum or cabinet of curiosities. Dion speaks about the typical experience of a museumgoer, which is a recurring point of interest in many of his works: “Those of us who frequent museums know the look of taxonomic display, be that of Roman coins, art movements, birds, teapots or pistols. That is the aesthetic I’m referencing but also disrupting by questioning its supremacy, logic and ubiquity.” The Dark Museum upends the typical experience of museum-going by offering a similar experience in a most unexpected venue
