Alice Aycock Oral History

Video directed by Graham Mason © Storm King Art Center, 2018

Although the two works by Alice Aycock on view at Storm King—Low Building with Dirt Roof (For Mary), 1973/2010, and Three-Fold Manifestation II, 1987 (refabricated 2006)—are quite different in aesthetic and significance, both are based in part in Aycock’s interest in architectural structures and the archaeology of the ancient Mediterranean. In her interview, Aycock describes the history of these sculptures, and how these works have a different presence at Storm King than in their original locations.
