Music has been a great influence on di Suvero throughout his career, and the improvisational arcs and curves of Mozart’s Birthday stand in tribute to this composer and to his music’s rhythms and cadences. The sculpture is composed from eleven I-beams and approximately fifteen flat arcs and interlaced forms, and configured like an oversized sawhorse.
